Hebrews 12:2
Verse of the day
2: [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity]. who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of work]. - Hebrews 12:2 (Amplified)
It is our duty to focus our eyes on Jesus. We can attest that such a feat can sometimes prove difficult for many of us, even for the most persistent of them all. That is why we should be grateful for this reminder from the writer of this verse in the Book of Hebrews. It serves as a reminder to do the thing which so many of us struggle with from time to time. And we all know what reminders can do for us, they serve a purpose in rekindling a fresh desire and zeal to continue in perseverance to reach for our goal in Christ Jesus. He was able to endure the cross despite the penalty and punishment received which He didn't deserve in any way whatsoever. He bore it all because of what He foresaw as the victory to come at the end of His suffering. That victory was the reward of having His creation by His side seated at the right hand of the throne of our Heavenly Father. There is no greater bliss than this, to achieve the completed work of our souls joined in harmony with His on that beautiful day of Salvation.
My encouragement to all who are longing for such an experience is that you reach out to the Almighty Everlasting King of all Kings and Lord of all Lords and ask Him to refresh your life with His passion, His hunger and His desire so that you will be able to see the Kingdom of Heaven established in the place where it was meant to be from the beginning. May God richly bless you all through Christ Jesus with all faith and understanding of His word. Amen!
