“Don’t let abuse be your child’s story: Make a change. End child abuse”

The Child Development Division within the Ministry of National Mobilisation, etc. will be observing the annual Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month from April 1 – 30, 2024. This is in keeping with St. Vincent and the Grenadines' commitment to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The theme chosen for this year is “ Don’t let abuse be your child’s story: Make a change. End child abuse ” with a focus on child neglect and abandonment. This theme addresses our goals of informing parents of their tremendous power to prevent child abuse; to educate and increase awareness in homes, schools, and communities as we use positive promotional activities geared towards strengthening families and fostering a network between the Ministry, the Police and Communities. As part of the month’s activities, churches are invited to commemorate “ Blue Sundays .” This is an annual event where churches of all faiths are asked to pray for the victims of child abuse and to demonstrate

Salute to the nation of St. Vincent & the Grenadines

HAPPY 44th INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY to St. Vincent & the Grenadines, which celebrates today the 27th day of October, 2023.

The word independence means - the fact and state of being independent or self governed. St. Vincentians have come a long way since their fight for independence. It is a happy time for the government and the people and we pray that they will celebrate well.

Prayer for the nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank You for the beautiful Caribbean isle of St. Vincent & the Grenadines. We thank You for creating our island and for giving us the chance to live on it. We thank You for Your protection from day one, up to our present day and for the protection that You will continue to give to all who live and dwell on this beautiful archipelago.

We are conscious of the care and love that You have poured upon us LORD, in the way that You have not allowed our nation to fall apart despite the struggles and challenges that we have faced over the years. We are mindful that You have our best interest at heart and that's why You have included us in Your plan of salvation for all mankind. We acknowledge Your rule as the number one ruler for our Nation. Without Your input Father, our livelihood and our esteem wouldn't have made it beyond survival to this day. We are grateful for You Father, and the way You have taken us from one stage of life to the next. You have blessed us to have a decent standard of living though not where most of us would want it to be, it is still very much improved across the mainland to the furthest Grenadine isle. We will continue to be a people who are content in whatsoever state we are in, because it is in you that we live and move and have our being. We thank You for the leaders who have toiled and laboured to see the success of our nation. We are pleased of their efforts and we pray that their labour will not be in vain or come to nought. We pray that the new generation of leaders will continue the fight with tenacity to maintain a strong legacy of our nation for years and years and years to come. May the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob be with us all and may He continue to dwell within the governance and systems of our Country in Jesus' name. Amen!
