“Don’t let abuse be your child’s story: Make a change. End child abuse”

The Child Development Division within the Ministry of National Mobilisation, etc. will be observing the annual Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month from April 1 – 30, 2024. This is in keeping with St. Vincent and the Grenadines' commitment to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The theme chosen for this year is “ Don’t let abuse be your child’s story: Make a change. End child abuse ” with a focus on child neglect and abandonment. This theme addresses our goals of informing parents of their tremendous power to prevent child abuse; to educate and increase awareness in homes, schools, and communities as we use positive promotional activities geared towards strengthening families and fostering a network between the Ministry, the Police and Communities. As part of the month’s activities, churches are invited to commemorate “ Blue Sundays .” This is an annual event where churches of all faiths are asked to pray for the victims of child abuse and to demonstrate

A Tree And It’s Fruit

“For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit,
For each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush
The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of the evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” - Luke 6:43-45

May the treasures of our heart produce good O Lord
And may You be pleased with the offering that we bring
You have taught us how to please You,
You’ve shown us how to honor You with obedience which is better than any sacrifice that we can make

Some good trees yield to the corruption that is poured out at their roots from various poisonous substances
But You have called us to be planted by the river of Living Water whose streams make glad the city of God
And there we’ll find that our leaves shall not wither and whatsoever we do shall prosper
Because the blessing of our God Adonai shall remain in us, upon us and all around us!

We thank God for His excellence greatness as the Keeper of the best vineyard in the universe
He has done, is doing and will continue to do whatsoever it takes to tend this vineyard so that it remains luscious, healthy and productive
Now that’s love, pure and true in its simplest form and highest quality
To see us as His choicest branches that will bear fruit as long as we abide in the Vine
We offer ourselves to You our Lord to be all that You will have us to be

By faith our fruits shall be the juiciest and most delicious forever 

And the world would finally understand us on that great day

They would understand that being in Your company is the best decision that anyone can ever make for their life!
